Introduction: Tea is a popular drink. It is the dried leaves of tea plants.
Where grown: Tea grows in the hilly regions where there is heavy rainfall. Sloping ground which does not allow rainwater is the most suitable place for tea cultivation. Tea plants require plenty of rainfall and moist climate. Tea grows in China, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan.
How grown: The cultivation of tree is hard. The seeding of tea transplanted in rows from three to six feet apart in tea gardens. Tea plants are allowed to grow only three to four feet in height.
Process of collection: The tender leaves of the plants are plucked usually three or four times a year. The first picking begins from April. The young leaves are dried in the sun or in the year. Then they are rolled over by a machine and dried again in a hot room. Different process and skills and adopted to make the best quality of tea. The dried leaves are then packed in bones and ready for sale.
Preparation as a drink: Some tea leaves are put in a pot of boiling water and are get reddish liquor. The leaves are separated from it. We can add milk and sugar to it in order to have a good drink.
Usefulness: Tea is a refreshing and pleasant drink. It is widely used in cold countries. It relieves us from fatigue.
