Your Last Day at School

Your Last Day at School

(276 words, 6 paragraphs, 24 lines)

A memorable day: My last day at school is one of the memorable days of my life. On that day I took leave of my teachers and school friends. I read at my school for five years. The thought that I was leaving the school for ever, filled my mind with a feeling of sadness.

A farewell party arranged: Our coaching classes were over. We, the candidates for the S.S. C. Examination, were invited to a farewell party that was arranged by our school-mates. We readily accepted the invitation and went to school to ask the blessings of our teachers and well-wishers of our school-mates.

Farewell from the classes and teachers: We moved from one class to another. We touched the feet of our teachers. They blessed us and expressed their great affection for us.

From the Headmaster: Then we went to the Headmaster to take leave of him. We showed him our heart-felt respect touching his feet. He patted upon our heads and blessed us. He advised us not to lose heart in the examination hall, make the right choice of the questions and revise the answers carefully. His loving words overwhelmed us so deeply that we could not speak for the time being.

Farewell given sadness of parting: Then the students of the school gathered in the hall to give us a hearty farewell. We went to take leave of them with a heavy heart. I was moved to tears remembering their happy company during the last few years. I could not say anything. Then we were treated with sweets.

Conclusion: Our farewell was very much pathetic. We returned home with a heavy heart.
